MAKEPLAY · AI GAME GENERATOR

AI game generator: one prompt in, a playable game out

Type what you want to play and the generator produces a complete game — code, art, music, levels — running in your browser minutes later. Not a video, not a mockup: a game.

  1. Write a prompt“A neon tower defense where the towers are cats” is a perfectly good prompt.
  2. Generation runs liveThe AI writes the code, generates art and audio, and playtests the result before serving it.
  3. Play it immediatelyThe generated game boots in your browser. Like it? Publish. Want changes? Just say so.

It generates a real game, not a preview of one

Plenty of “AI game generators” produce a video clip, a design document, or a scene you can't actually touch. MakePlay generates the game itself: real JavaScript running on real engines (PixiJS for 2D, three.js and Rapier physics for 3D), with original generated art and an original generated soundtrack. When generation ends, you're not looking at your game — you're playing it.

Prompts that generate well

You don't need a spec sheet. A subject plus a mechanic is enough: “a rhythm game about a drumming octopus”, “a snowball fight where you roll your ammo bigger”, “a cozy fishing game at night”. The generator fills in the rest — controls, difficulty, art direction, music mood — and makes it mobile-friendly by default. Vague is fine; the AI asks itself the follow-up questions so you don't have to.

Generation is the start, not the end

Because the generator sits inside a studio, the first generated game is a first draft you can push further. Say what to change and it regenerates just that part — swap the art style, add a boss, rebalance the difficulty. And if you'd rather not start from a blank prompt, remix any published game and generate your changes on top of it.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to generate a game?
A few minutes for the first playable version. The AI spends that time writing code, generating art and audio, and playtesting its own build — you can watch the whole process live.
Does it generate 2D or 3D games?
Both. 2D games run on PixiJS with generated pixel art; 3D games run on three.js with Rapier physics. Describe what you're imagining and the generator picks the right stack.
Is the art and music generated too?
Yes — everything is generated per game: sprites or 3D visuals, background music composed for your game's mood (seamless loops, even sung vocals if you want), and matching sound effects. No stock assets shared between games.
What if I don't like what it generates?
Tell it what's wrong, in plain words — “make it faster”, “darker art”, “the jump feels floaty” — and it regenerates that part. You iterate by chatting, and you can roll back to any earlier version.
Is the AI game generator free to use?
Yes — generating, publishing and playing games are all free on MakePlay, with no credit card and no watermark. Fair-use limits only kick in under very heavy back-to-back generation.
