Who we are
MakePlay (makeplay.ai) is a free AI game builder operated by the MakePlay team. For anything in this policy, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
Account information. When you sign up we receive your email address and, if you use Google or Apple sign-in, the basic profile they share (name, email). If you use a password, we store it hashed — never in plain text. Your public display name and pixel avatar are generated for you and shown on your profile.
Content you create. Your games, the chat messages you exchange with the AI while building, reference images you upload, comments, message-board posts, likes, favorites and remixes. Studio chat text is private to your account. Unpublished drafts are not published or listed anywhere, but their files (including images you attach) are served from an unguessable studio link — treat that link like a key. Anything you publish is public.
Usage data. Plays and play session length, pages visited, device and browser type, and IP address (used for security, rate limiting and country-level statistics).
Virtual economy records. Coin and gem balances and their transaction history (sign-ins, tips, gifts, shop items).
Cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage. Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
How we use it
To run MakePlay: build the games you describe, host and serve your published games, show profiles and leaderboards, deliver notifications, and keep the platform fair (anti-abuse and fair-use limits). Game descriptions, chat messages and uploaded images are processed by the AI model providers we use in order to generate your game. We also use content and usage data to improve MakePlay, including the AI systems that build games. Published games are subject to automated moderation, and we review reports.
What is public
Published games (with title, description, cover and play stats), your profile (display name, avatar, level, published games), comments and message-board posts, leaderboard entries, and remix lineage (which game a remix came from). Your email address is never shown publicly.
What we share
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make MakePlay work — cloud hosting, content delivery, AI model providers, email delivery and analytics — and only what they need to do their job. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect MakePlay and its users from abuse.
Your choices
Notification emails carry an unsubscribe link — one click stops them. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info, and control cookies through your browser settings. To delete your account and data, see below.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and associated personal data, email [email protected] from your account address and we will handle it. Published games may be removed on request; note that remixes made by other players are their own copies and are handled separately.
Children
MakePlay is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account (or older where your local law requires). Playing published games requires no account. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and international transfer
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, though no online service can promise absolute security. Our servers are located in the United States; by using MakePlay you understand your data is processed there.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be called out on the site.
