Every game platform has a leaderboard. Almost all of them are tables: a column of names, a column of numbers, a scrollbar. The best player-made games on MakePlay deserved better than a spreadsheet — so we built them a palace.
The Hall of Fame is a floating sky palace you descend through. Every game appears as its own arcade cabinet — cover art glowing on the screen, play count etched on a brass plaque — drifting on stone islands among coins, ghosts and potion bottles.
Keep scrolling down and the palace unfolds in four halls:
- The Champion Hall. The hottest game right now sits alone under a spotlight with a golden crown, flanked by the silver and bronze podium. Below them, the rest of the top ranks wind down a floating walkway.
- The Rising Stairs. Games climbing fastest this week, arranged on an ascending stairway — catch tomorrow's champion on its way up.
- The Starlight Avenue. The highest-rated games, as judged by the people who actually played them.
- The Creator Wall. A poster wall for the makers themselves — the directors behind the most-loved games.
Five stars, from real players
Ratings come from the community: on any game's share page you can score it from one to five pixel stars. Those votes power the Starlight Avenue — so the “best rated” hall reflects actual players, not an algorithm's guess.
How to get your game on the wall
There's no submission form. Make a game, publish it, and let people play. Plays push you up the Champion Hall, momentum puts you on the Rising Stairs, and star ratings carry you down the Starlight Avenue. The palace re-ranks continuously — visit makeplay.ai/leaderboard and start descending.
