The grapes make clones, the pineapples make you roll and destroy certain things, and the bananas let you grab hooks/levers. See if you've got a combo of abilities and try to use the combos. In some cases there's multiple hooks, in others there might be multiple desirable items to open paths. You have limited range for hook tentacles, but there's usually a way to use the combos to get thru a puzzle
